Valve confirms Steam Controller restock plans
Valve plans to update Steam fans on their controller restock plans soon
Valve’s Steam Controller went on sale yesterday, and as expected, it quickly sold out worldwide. Today, Valve has confirmed that it is “working on getting more stock”, and that it plans to give gamers an update and a restock timeline soon.
Scalpers have already started trying to sell their pre-ordered Steam controllers for prices far above Valve’s £85 MSRP. In the UK, we have seen listings for almost £200, and in the US, there have reportedly been listings for controllers for up to $300. Clearly, there is a lot of demand for Valve’s new PC-native controller, and Valve didn’t make enough gamepads to meet that demand.
Steam Controller ran out faster than we anticipated, and we hate that not everyone who wanted one was able to get it. We’re working on getting more in stock and will have an update on expected timeline soon.– Valve

Right now, Valve simply lists its new Steam Controller as “out of stock”. At the time of writing, Valve has not listed an ETA for a controller restock on its website. No pre-orders are available for future stock, so would-be Steam Controller owners will simply need to wait for Valve to restock.
Valve isn’t doing well at keeping its Steam hardware in stock. None of Valve’s Steam Deck variants is in stock in the UK. DRAM shortages have also prevented Valve from releasing its Steam Machine console-like gaming PC and Steam Frame VR headset.
