DDR5 prices are falling, and this DDR5-6000 CL36 VIPER Venom kit from Patriot is a bargain

Patriot’s Viper Venom DDR5-6000 memory kit is currently available at a bargain price

DDR5 memory prices are falling, and that’s a great thing for PC gamers. Today, we have now spotted DDR5-6000 memory kits that are now available for under £200 with tight timings, something that would have almost been too good to be true back in 2022.

Now that both AMD and Intel have CPU platforms that can utilise DDR5 memory modules, and DDR5 memory modules are now produced in large quantities, DDR5 module prices are falling, and lower-speed kits are now available for much lower prices than before.   

When AMD launched their Ryzen 7000 processors and AM5 platform back in September 2022, we analysed the platform costs of AMD’s new AM5 ecosystem and found that a 2x 16GB kit of DDR5-5200 memory with CL40 timings was available for around £169.99. Back than, that kind of pricing was considered a good deal.

So how much can be but a DDR5-6000 memory kit with CL36-36-36-76 timings for today? £159.99! That’s less than the CL40 DDR5-5200 that we listed in our AM5 cost analysis back in September 2022. Higher speed DDR5 memory with tighter timings have become a lot more affordable than it once was, and that’s an exciting prospect.

This is a bargain price for a relatively high speed DDR5 memory kit with fairly tight timings, and we expect these modules to sell out quickly at this price.

DDR5 pricing is on a downward trend, and memory kits that offer higher than standard speeds with tighter than normal timings are expected to become a lot more common as 2023 progresses. That’s great news for PC gamers, as high speed memory kits with tight CL timings can be critical if you want to achieve the highest possible framerates in modern games.
