Microsoft reveals its Xbox Series X Console

At The Game Awards 2019, Microsoft unveiled its Xbox Series X console, revealing a cuboid-shaped console with an Xbox Pro Controller-like gamepad. The console will release in the Holiday 2020 timeframe at an unknown price tag.

The Xbox Series X name suggests that Microsoft’s next-gen console is a “series” and not a singular console, which supports the recent rumours that Microsoft’s lower-end Lockhart console is still in development. This means that Microsoft may release two Xbox Series X systems in 2020, giving gamers an affordable alternative to their higher-end next-gen system.

Microsoft’s new console looks a lot like a PC tower at the time of writing, but it’s too early to rule out a design change before the console’s release in late 2020. At least it looks better than Sony’s PlayStation 4 development kits…
