New Flagship Router – ASUS reveals their WIFI ROG Rapture GT-BE98 Pro

ASUS has upgraded their flagship router to make it more powerful than ever

ASUS has today revealed their new flagship gaming router, the ROG Rapture GT-BE98 PRO. This is a new quad-band WIFI 7 gaming router that acts as a higher-end counterpart to the company’s existing ROG Rapture GT-BE98.

This new gaming router boasts beastly specifications. The router features a quad-band design with two 6GHz bands, one 5GHz band, and one 2.4 GHz band. In total, the ROG Rapture GT-BE98 PRO can deliver users 30,000 Mbps of aggregate wireless bandwidth. On the wired side, this router features two 10 Gb ethernet connections and four 2.5 Gb ethernet ports.

ASUS’ new ROG Rapture GT-BE98 PRO features an integrated 2.6 GHz quad-core networking processor and WIFI chipset. The ROG team have clocked this processor higher than their competitors, ensuring that it can handle higher levels of networking traffic. ASUS has also utilise a custom heatsink design to ensure that this router does not overheat or throttle under heavy loads. In fact, ASUS claims that this router is 18% cooler running than their ROG Rapture GT-AXE16000.

Range and Mesh Networking

ASUS’ new ROG Rapture router features eight WIFI antennas and features ASUS’ exclusive “RangeBoost” technology. Users can also further upgrade the range of this router using the company’s AiMesh products. This allows users to create a huge WIFI network that can be managed remotely.

One of the primary upgrades that ASUS’ new PRO router model has over its non-PRO counterpart is its use of two 6GHz bands. The original ROG Rapture GT-BE98 features two 5GHz bands, which was sub-optimal for users who wanted a full WIFI 7 mesh network with WIFI 7 fronthaul and backhaul. The Pro addresses this issue with two dedicated 6GHz bands, allowing users to extent the full capabilities of their WIFI 7 hardware through their mesh network.
