PSU and CPU cooler prices to rise in 2026, distributor warns
Chinese distributor warns of higher PSU and heatsink costs in 2026
Guangzhou Xinhongzheng Electronic Technology, a Chinese components distributor, has warned that PSU and CPU cooler prices will rise in 2026. The distributor cited higher upstream raw material costs, with copper, tin, and silver all increasing in price.
The distributor states that PSU costs will increase by 6-10%. CPU cooler costs will rise by 6-8%. Starting on January 6th, suppliers reportedly ceased accepting orders at their previous pricing.
While these price increases are nothing compared with the rising cost of DRAM, these increases will hit the PC market hard. This is another area where PC manufacturers will incur higher costs. This will increase overall PC prices and individual component costs.

With these price increases linked to material costs, PSU and CPU cooler prices are likely to rise globally. As always, this recent price increase can be linked to AI and the rapid datacenter buildouts by the world’s leading AI companies. Those datacenters need a lot of copper wiring, and tin and silver are commonly used materials for many hardware components. If there is anyone to blame for the PC pricing crisis, it is big AI. First, they took the world’s DRAM, now their greedy buildouts are having impacts on other markets.
