007 First Light is getting a PC path tracing update next month

007 First Light is about to get a big graphical upgrade on PC

Nvidia has confirmed that IO Interactive’s 007 First Light will get a major graphical upgrade on September 15th. With the addition of path tracing on PC, 007 First Light will look better than ever. Alongside path tracing, this update will also add support for Nvidia’s DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction tech, ensuring that PC gamers get the best path tracing visuals when the update arrives.

At launch, 007 First Light supported DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution, Multi Frame Generation (up to 6x), and Dynamic Frame Generation. Soon, gamers will be able to enjoy the game with even more advanced PC visuals. The game will be the first game to natively support DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction, though other titles can enable the feature using the Nvidia App.

To celebrate the release of this upcoming upgrade, Nvidia has released a new “RTX Update” trailer. The trailer shows First Light running at 4K maximum settings on an RTX 5090 with DLSS 4.5 Multi Frame Generation (6x) & Ray Reconstruction, with Path Tracing on.

Note that Nvidia calls this an “RTX Update”, which implies that path tracing may not be available on non-RTX graphics cards.
