A digital version of The Lord of the Rings Living Card Game is in the works
One thing to note here is that a “Living Card Game” is not a “Collectable Card Game”, relying on player purchasing expansion packs with fixed cards in each set rather than random packs like existing digital card games like Hearthstone. This will allow players to pay for exactly what they want, rather than spend money on the opportunity to get what they want.Â
The LOTR Living Card Game offers a more structured experience, offering single-player and co-operative campaigns instead of traditional PVP. Payers will be able to purchase cards in the game with pre-built packs or using in-game currency, which is earned by completing campaigns. Each player can create a deck of 30 cards with three heroes.Â
Choose your Heroes, build your deck and face the dark forces of Sauron in The Lord of the Rings Living Card Game, the first title from Fantasy Flight Interactive! Based on the award-winning tabletop experience from Fantasy Flight Games, The Lord of the Rings Living Card Game is the first ever digital LCG, featuring an in-game economy built around fixed packs and a story-based, single-player campaign.
Narratively driven and exceedingly replayable, The Lord of the Rings Living Card Game provides a digital card game experience like no other.
Â
When the game releases on Steam Early access the title will only be available with select card packs, with the final version of the game being free-to-play. Over time more campaigns and cards will become available within the game. Below are the game’s listed PC system requirements, which are extremely low like other digital card games.Â
