Activision hints at Crash Team Racing’s PC release

Crash Team Racing may have released on PlayStation 4, Switch and Xbox One in 2019, but that doesn’t mean that a PC version isn’t the works. After all, both the Crash Bandicoot N’Sane Trilogy and the Spyro Reignited Trilogy are now available on Steam, with both titles releasing after their console counterparts.

Now, Activision’s website explicitly lists “Windows” on its official webpage for Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, suggesting that the game is coming to PC. This listing was first spotted by DSOGaming. This move makes sense given Activision’s track record for such releases, though it is worth noting that their PC ports of these releases aren’t always of the best quality.

On PC, Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled has the potential to offer gamers a full 60 FPS version of the fast-paced racer. All console versions of the game run at 30 FPS, making it possible for PC gamers to enjoy smoother framerates and faster response times thanks to the power of today’s PC hardware. That said, this assumes that Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled’s PC version supports higher framerates than its console counterparts.

At this time, Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled has no firm release date on PC, though its release seems likely. Let’s hope that Activision announces this game in the near future, as PC could do with a few more competent cart racers.
