AMD’s FSR 3 Frame Generation tech has arrived in The Last of Us Part 1

The Last of Us Part 1’s latest PC update has added AMD’s FSR 3 Frame Generation tech to the game

Update 1.1.3 has just arrived for The Last of Us Part 1’s PC version, updating the game with AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution 3 (FSR 3) technology. This updates the game’s FSR Super Resolution technology to AMD’s latest version, and add supports for AMD’s Frame Generation technology to the game.

Sadly, this update does not add support for Nvidia’s DLSS 3 Frame Generation technology. This means that Nvidia users who want Frame Generation will need to either use FSR 3 Frame Generation, or use a DLSS 3 mod for the game.

AMD’s FSR 3 technology is an updated version of AMD’s FSR 2 upscaler that also supports Frame Generation. This means that FidelityFX Super Resolution 3 users can benefit from both resolution upscaling and Frame Generation. This can dramatically increase the framerate of supported games using upscaled and interpolated frames.

While The Last of Us Part 1’s PC version has a poor reputation, all of the games major issues were addressed with patches. The game now runs much better than it did at launch, so much so that the game is now Steam Deck Verified.
