Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation now supports both Vulkan and DirectX 12
Stardock Games has officially released patch 2.4 for Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation, bringing support for the Vulkan API to the game. This makes Ashes of the Singularity the first retail game to support both Vulkan and DirectX 12, the two most popular low-level graphical APIs.Â
The Vulkan API promises reduced CPU overhead, better CPU scaling and support for several modern GPU features, offering similar features to DirectX 12 but also offers support for operating systems outside of Windows 10.

Update 2.4 offers more than just support for Vulkan, offering several UI and balance improvements as well as new scenarios for each game campaign as well as a new co-op map pack. Modders will also be pleased with this new update, as it delivers them access to more parts of the game that can be modified as well as changed that will make modding more intuitive.Â
