Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation will soon have a Vulkan version

Stardock says that they are planning to release a Vulkan version of Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation in June, with the work on the API already being largely completed.

This new API code path for the game will not be released until Stardock are happy with the API’s compatibility and optimisation, given the game’s popularity as a benchmarking tool for both CPUs and high-end graphics.

When the new Vulkan version of the game is released this should provide a great opportunity to compare both graphical APIs, as well as open up the ability to port the game over to Linux with support for the new Vulkan API.

Stardock has not confirmed whether or not they will be making a Linux version of the game, as at this time they are unsure if the game will have sufficient demand to make the development of a Linux version worthwhile.
