Blizzard releases Warcraft III: Reforged’s PC System Requirements

Warcraft III: Reforged’s PC system requirements have been revealed, confirming that the remastered classic will be a breeze to run on modern PCs, despite the game’s graphical upgrades.

Strangely, Blizzard has listed the game with support for both Windows XP and Vista, even though Blizzard’s Battle.net client is no longer built with these legacy OS’ in mind. All it will take is an unfriendly Battle.net to completely break XP/Vista support, making their system requirements selection a strange one.

Being built on the same engine as the original Warcraft III, it is understandable that the game ships with extremely low hardware requirements, with the largest changes to the game being the addition of high polygon models (a huge upgrade over the original), new cutscenes and other boosted graphical options. This means that the game should be exceptionally easy to run on modern gaming PCs, especially on the CPU side.

Even when looking at the game’s recommended requirements, we can see that the game requires a mere 2GB of RAM on modern 64-bit operating systems and support for a DirectX video card that supports resolutions of 1024×786 on Windows 8 or newer OS’, both of which sit well within the capabilities of laptops with integrated graphics cards.

With Warcraft III: Reforged, PC gamers shouldn’t need to worry about being able to run this game, as anything that is worth calling a gaming PC should be able to run this remaster with ease, even at high resolutions.
