Codemasters reveals F1 2018’s PC system requirements

F1 2018, the official video game of the 2018 FIA Formula One World Championship, is set to release later this month, offering players Codemaster’s most accurate F1 simulation to daye while also adding new circuits and updated graphics. 

The game will release on PC, PS4 and Xbox One on August 24th, with pre-orderers receiving the game’s “Headline Edition”, which ships with free 2009 BRAWN BGP-001 and 2003 WILLIAMS FW25 CLASSIC CAR DLCs. 
 
When compared to the game’s 2017 iteration, the game’s CPU system requirements have been raised considerably, with the game’s recommended requirements now calling for hex-core processors from both the AMD and Intel camps. Both of these recommended processors are current generation parts, showcasing how heavy this game will be on processors when playing at the title’s highest game settings.  Codemasters have recommended Intel’s Coffee Lake i5 8600K and AMD’s Ryzen 2nd Generation 2600X.

PC gamers will require a system with a 64-bit Windows Operating system, 8GB of system memory and a DirectX 11 compliant graphics card. With minimum GPU requirements that scale down to Nvidia’s GT 640, we can tell that this game will be extremely scalable, especially given the game’s high recommended system requirements. 

F1 2017 contained an integrated benchmarking utility, though at this time Codemasters has not confirmed whether or not this feature will return in F1 2018.
