Colossal Orders hikes Cities Skylines 2’s system requirements to ensure a better gameplay experience

Cities Skyline 2’s PC system requirements have been raised ahead of launch

Colossal Order has chosen to release new PC system requirements for Cities Skylines 2. Now, PC gamers have new, higher, hardware recommendations. Some Skylines fans may need to upgrade their gaming rigs!

Cities Skylines 2’s original PC system requirements were released in June. These system requirements are from earlier in Cities Skylines 2’s development. This means that the addition of new game features, and more recent playtesting, have likely forced Colossal Order to reconsider their hardware requirements.

Cities Skylines 2 is a city builder. Like most simulation games, Cities Skylines 2 will become more taxing on hardware as players create larger cities with more complex traffic systems. These higher PC system requirements likely account for these larger city scenarios, ensuring that PC gamers can enjoy the late-game if they have strong enough hardware.

Cities Skylines 2’s PC system requirements

PC gamers now need stronger hardware to ensure they have a good gameplay experience. Cities Skylines 2 now features higher CPU and GPU requirements. This uplift applies to both the game’s minimum and recommended hardware specifications. Now, AMD’s Ryzen 7 5800X processor is recommended alongside Intel’s i5-12600K, with Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 3080 being the game’s recommended GPU. Those are some high hardware recommendations. But isn’t that expected for a next-generation simulation game? Beyond that, Skylines 2 is a much better looking game than the original.

OS: Windows 10 Home 64 Bit
Processor: Intel® Core i7-6700K | AMD Ryzen 5 2600X
