Crackdown 3 has been delayed until 2018

If has been revealed that Crackdown 3 has been delayed until Spring 2018 on PC and Xbox One, with the game previously being announced as an Xbox One X launch title, with a planned released on November 7th.

Sumo Digital, the developers of the game are said to need more time to polish the title, with the developers focusing on visual polish amongst other things. One of the biggest criticisms of the game was its visuals when it was showcased at E3 2017, though Sumo Digital will also be working on the title’s gameplay aspects during this time.

We’re very excited about Crackdown 3, and so are many fans, and so it’s a difficult call to move the release date. However, we want to make sure to deliver the right game, with the right quality, and at the right time.

Crackdown 3 is a hugely ambitious game and we want to ensure we deliver the right experiences all the way through every part of the game,  whether that’s campaign, co-op multiplayer or our competitive multiplayer mode, Wrecking Zone. Getting the balance right between the three modes is important, and we are going to take the extra development time to ensure that. Gamers can expect Crackdown 3 in Spring of 2018.

Crackdown 3 has been confirmed as an Xbox Play Anywhere title, which will allow owners of the game on the Windows Store/Xbox One Store to play the game on both Xbox One and Windows 10 platforms. Players on Windows 10 and Xbox One will also be able to use cross-saves and other cross-platform features.

Crackdown 3 has been delayed until 2018

Crackdown 3 was originally set to release in 2016, with this new delay weakening Microsoft’s 2017 game lineup further. Will the lack of Crackdown 3 harm Xbox One sales this holiday season?
