Creative Assembly reveals their Desert Kingdoms DLC for Total War: Rome 2

Despite its age Total War: Rome II has remained extremely popular on Steam, sitting on Steam’s top 100 concurrent players list almost five years after its initial launch.

Even with the incoming release of Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia and Total War: Three Kingdoms there remains a keen interest in Romanic history amongst the Total War fanbase, with the success of the game’s recently released Empire Divided Expansion paving the way for more DLC content. This content will come in the form of new playable factions, as well as new faction leaders and generals.

To start off, Creative Assembly will be releasing Cleopatra and Teuta as playable faction leaders and generals, while also adding other female characters across all campaigns. The role of women will change depending on the player’s chosen faction and their culture. These changes will come with a free patch on Match 8th.

Alongside their free Female Leaders DLC, Creative Assembly is also releasing their new “Desert Kingdoms” Culture Pack which adds four unique playable factions to the game. This DLC will cost £6.99 and add the Kingdoms of Kush, Saba, Nabatea and Masaeyli to the game, each of which has a unique unit roster, building chain and technology tree.

Total War: Rome II’s Desert Kingdoms DLC will ship on March 8th, offering Rome II players with four new factions to play as and changes to several existing factions thanks to their new “Female Leaders” free DLC.
