Creative Assembly reveal’s their Rise of the Republic Campaign Pack for Rome II

Rome II: Total War has weathered the test of time better than most games in the series, remaining on Steam’s most played games lists despite being almost five years old and its poor reception at launch. Even Thrones of Britannia, the latest entry into the Total War series, has been kicked of Steam’s top games list, itself showcasing how enduring Rome II’s popularity has been.

Today, Creative Assembly has revealed a new DLC for Total War: Rome II called “Rise of the Republic”, which charts the events of Roman history in the 4th Century BC, an Italy-focused campaign where Rome will transition from being a City-Sate towards being a nation. Even the world’s most famous Empire has small beginnings.

Nine playable factions will be available within this campaign, which includes Rome, Tarchua, Senones, Insubres, Samnites, Taras, Syracuse, Lolei and Veneti. New technologies will also be present within this DLC, as well as faction-specific objectives and government actions.

Out August 9th 2018 – Rise of the Republic. The year is 399 BC, and Rome is poised for greatness. However, its very existence balances on a knife-edge. A crossroads in history: a time of threat – and of opportunity. A time for the republic to rise.

The release of this DLC will coincide with the official release of ROME II’s free Ancestral update, which adds a new “family tree” system to the game alongside several substantial graphical upgrades and some quality of life game improvements.

More information about Rome II’s upcoming Ancestral Update is available here, as well as detail about how to access the update’s beta.
