Crytek has updated Robinson: The Journey to support the HTC Vive
In an adventure inspired by Daniel Defoeâs novel Robinson Crusoe and classic science fiction, you will become the first human to explore an extrasolar planet. When the Esmeralda crash-lands on Tyson III, a boy named Robin is left stranded. He must rely on his wits â and HIGS, one of the shipâs AI units â to survive. As he searches for the lost crew and comes face-to-face with dinosaurs, Robin discovers that Tyson III is not the paradise he was promised.Stunningly realistic graphics provide a true feeling of presence in the lush and mysterious environs of Tyson III thanks to the power of CRYENGINE, and expert sound design fills out the world of Robinson. Every creature has its own voice, and attenuation ensures that each sound changes depending on the location of the player, a detail that really brings the world to life. Robinsonâs ambient soundscapes are embellished by a score composed by Jesper Kyd.

Hopefully, Robinson: The Journey will be the first of many Oculus Exclusive games that will be coming to other VR platforms, as the market segmentation in today’s VR market is certainly harming VR adoption. Nobody wants to back the wrong VR platform after all.Â
