Crytek’s Hunt Showdown has released on Steam Early Access

Crytek has officially released Hunt Showdown on Steam Early Access, a multiplayer game where hunters compete to take down take down monsters and other teams of hunters in a competitive/co-operative online environment.

This game is an early build, so expect the game to have its issues, though Crytek has committed to fixing any major bugs as early as they can and lower the games system requirements over time to cater to a wider range of system configurations. Each map is 1km square, featuring handcrafted locations and hoards of monsters to either kill or be killed by.   

In Hunt Showdown death is permanent, though progress will be retained (at least partially) using the game’s Bloodline system, where their skill can be applied to new hunters. In death, players will lose everything except their experience. 

 

     Savage, nightmarish monsters roam the Louisiana swamps, and you are part of a group of rugged bounty hunters bound to rid the world of their ghastly presence. Banish these creatures from our world, and you will be paid generously—and given the chance to buy more gruesome and powerful weapons. Fail, and death will strip you of both character and gear. Your experience, however, remains in your pool of hunters—called your Bloodline—always. 

 
Below are the game’s PC system requirements, which are designed to match the game’s current early access build. These will be lowered over time as the game is optimised further, which should allow the game to be played on lower-end systems.
