Cuphead will release on Steam, GOG and Windows 10 on September 29th

GOG has announced that Cuphead, the 1930’s cartoon style run and gun action game will be released on their platform alongside Steam and the Windows 10 Store. Unlike other versions, the GOG version of the game will feature no DRM, though the Windows 10 version does come with the advantage of being part of Microsoft’s “Xbox Play Anywhere” program.

Right now the game is set to release on September 29th on both Xbox One and Windows PC, with the Windows 10 Store listing the game with a £16.74 price tag, which other stores are expected to emulate.

Cuphead is a classic run and gun action game heavily focused on boss battles. Inspired by cartoons of the 1930s, the visuals and audio are painstakingly created with the same techniques of the era, i.e. traditional hand drawn cel animation, watercolor backgrounds, and original jazz recordings.

Play as Cuphead or Mugman (in single player or local co-op) as you traverse strange worlds, acquire new weapons, learn powerful super moves, and discover hidden secrets while you try to pay your debt back to the devil!

Given this game’s classic cartoon graphical style, it understandably has exceptionally low PC system requirements, though it must be remembered that the Windows 10 Store version will require users to use Windows 10 compatible hardware.

Minimum system requirements

Windows: 7 / 8.1 / 10
Processor: Intel Core2 Duo E8400, 3.0GHz or AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000, 3.0GHz or higher
Memory: 2 GB RAM
Graphics: Geforce 9600 GT or AMD HD 3870 512MB or higher
DirectX: Version 9.0
Storage: 20 GB available space
