Blizzard’s ray tracing update for Diablo IV is launching on March 26th
Ray tracing is coming to Diablo IV this month
Diablo IV is about receive a a major visual update. On March 26th, Blizzard will be releasing Diablo IV’s highly anticipated ray tracing update. This update will bring ray traced reflections and ray traced transparent reflections to the game, making the game look better than ever on PC.
If you have read our PC performance review for Diablo IV, you will know that the game runs well. This is especially true if you make use of FSR or DLSS. Today’s high-end PCs can already play Diablo IV at absurdly high framerates. This makes the game’s upcoming ray tracing update a great way for high-end PC users to make use of their surplus graphical horsepower.
Ray traced reflections and transparent reflections will be available in Diablo IV on armour, water, windows, and other reflective surfaces. You can see the impact of these effects in the video below. Below is what Nvidia had to say about the update.
Coming March 26th, Diablo IV content will look even better thanks to the addition of 2 ray-traced effects. Armor, water, windows, and other suitably reflective surfaces will now feature accurate, realistic ray-traced reflections and ray-traced transparent reflections, making battles in Sanctuary even more spectacular. The many shadows of Diablo IV will be enhanced with ray tracing, adding extra detail to all scenes.
Diablo IV is already a great looking game on PC, and the addition of ray tracing will help take the game to the next level. That said, gamers should not expect this game’s visuals to be completely transformed by ray tracing. After all, only reflections will be improved. Even so, the update will give this game a welcome visual boost.
