Dino Crisis 1 & 2 have just been enhanced and re-released on PC through GOG

GOG’s Game Preservation Program has returned Dino Crisis to PC

Let’s face it: the gaming industry has done a poor job of preserving its legacy. Too many classics are unplayable on modern PCs, and too many games are stranded on legacy disc-based media. Thankfully, GOG has made it their mission to preserve these games, and Dino Crisis 1 and 2 have become the latest games to join the company’s Preservation Program.

Both Dino Crisis games are now available on GOG for £8.99 each or £15.29 as part of a two-game bundle. Like all GOG games, they are DRM-free and compatible with Windows 10 and 11. Furthermore, both games support modern gamepads.

Below is a list of improvements that GOG has made to their new PC versions of Dino Crisis 1 and 2

  • Full compatibility with Windows 10 and Windows 11
  • All 2 localizations of the game included (English, Japanese)
  • Easy difficulty, Dino Colosseum and Dino Duel included
  • Improved DirectX game renderer
  • New rendering options (Windowed Mode, Vertical Synchronization Control, Gamma Correction, Integer Scaling, Anti-Aliasing and more)
  • Enhanced music playback and volume scaling
  • Improved item rendering and fogging
  • Better cartridge boxes alignment
  • Issue-free video playback, task switching and game exit
  • Full support for modern controllers (Sony DualSense, Sony DualShock4, Microsoft Xbox Series, Microsoft Xbox One, Microsoft Xbox 360, Nintendo Switch,
  • Logitech F series and many more) with optimal button binding regardless of the hardware and wireless mode

Dino Crisis isn’t the only Capcom classic that GOG has preserved

Thanks to GOG, PC gamers can enjoy these classic Capcom Horror titles once again. Last year, GOG brought back the classic versions of Resident Evil 1, 2, and 3 to PC. While each game has a modern remaster, it is great to see that their original counterparts can be played on modern PCs.

To the game preservationists of GOG, we thank you. Keep up the good work.
