Empire of Ants showcases the power of Unreal Engine 5

Tower Five stuns with mindblowing Empire of Ants trailer

Ahead of GDC, Tower 5 has showcased Empire of Ants, a new strategy game that features photorealistic insectoid visuals. The game is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC this year, and it looks phenomenal. On PC, the game will be available though Steam.

This 3D strategy game has quickly become a major Unreal Engine 5 showpiece, offering gamers environments and insects that look near photorealistic. The game is based on the book of the same name, with players ruling an Ant colony as it expands.

Simply put, Empire of Ants is a stunning game. While we have not seen the game getting played yet, it visuals alone are more than enough to grab attention. throughout the game, players will be battling against the seasons, other insects, and the dangers that day and night can bring. A solo play mode for the game is available, as is a multiplayer mode. Yes, you can battle against other insect empires online!

Tower Five are likely to be making heavy use of Unreal Engine 5’s advanced feature set with this title. The game’s strong lighting is likely due to UE5’s Lumen feature, and Nanite could be used to help deliver this game’s realistic environments. We certainly look forward to seeing more of this game later this year.
