Euro Truck Simulator 2’s latest beta update delivers a big graphics boost

Euro Truck Simulator’s 1.38 Open Beta is now available, adding a graphical upgrade, a reskin of the city of Lille and updates to several major junctions. Gamers can also use an RGB colour picker to full customise the colour of their trucks, including the option to use HSV, RGB and HEX colour codes. This update will make colour matching much easier, especially for those with fleets of vehicles. 

With this work-in-progress update, Euro Truck Simulator 2’s GPS UI has also been updated to support a modernise UI, allowing for a larger map on-screen view as well as more information for drivers who use the game’s checkpoint system. Update 1.38 also includes a wide range of bug fixes and three new transport routes for owners of the game’s Road to the Black Sea and Special Transport packs. 

Graphically, Euro Truck Simulator’s visuals are basic by today’s standards, but the addition of SSAO (Screen-Space Ambient Occlusion) does a great job when it comes to grounding the game’s locations through the use of natural, believable shadows. This update may seem subtle, but it adds an extra layer of believability to Euro Truck Simulator’s visuals, adding to the game’s immersion.
