For Honor will be available to play for free this weekend

Ubisoft has announced that For Honor will be available for play for free this weekend on PS4, Xbox One and PC, with the free promotional period starting on November 9th and ending on November 12th. Exact times for this free trial can be viewed in the image below for your timezone.

Console users will need to subscribe to PlayStation Plus or Xbox One Live to take part in this free trial on your respective console, with PC gamers only requiring a free Uplay account to gain access to the title.

During this free trial, gamers will have access to the full game an all of its content, which includes the game’s single-player and multiplayer modes and all of the game’s 16 heroes and 16 maps.

New players will also be able to take part in what Ubisoft calls their “Warrior Training Program”, which will reward new players with Steel (in-game currency) and train them for the online battles to come. Below is Ubisoft’s description of the new mode.

The “Warrior Training Program” is a brand new system we are pleased to introduce exclusively during the Free Weekend period on all platforms, from November 9th @ 17:00 (UTC) to November 12th @ 20:00 (UTC).

Grouping up is a unique way to experience the world of For Honor and a great opportunity to share techniques. As a seasoned warrior, complete 5 matches while grouped with Free Weekend players (who does not own the game) within the aforementioned event timeframe to earn 5000 Steel!

Free weekend players who do not own the game can also group up to be eligible for the reward. You are eligible if you already own the game or not!
As grouping is the key of this program, only 2v2 and 4v4 game modes are applicable in PvP PvAI.
Reward is eligible in all the game regions where the game is available.
An in-game popup will confirm your 5000 Steel reward on November 15th. Free Weekend players will also have the reward granted to their account and made available the next time they connect to the game (through purchase or through any possible future free play initiatives).
