Forza Motorsport 7 will be releasing on PC in 2017

Last night, Microsoft announced Forza Motorsport 7 as a Xbox One/Windows 10 exclusive, targeting a 60FPS framerate and support for HDR. Better still, the game is being designed to work at 4K 60Hz on the Xbox One X, which is great news for PC gamers.

Many Forza fans on PC will remember how difficult it was to get Forza Horizons 3 to run at a steady 60 FPS on PC, especially in city areas. This was due to two things, a lack of CPU multi-threading on PC and the fact that the game was designed to run at 30FPS on Xbox One. These two factors meant that a lot of PC gamers were unable to access the full performance of their CPUs, preventing them from achieving the 2x Xbox One levels of CPU performance that is required to run the game at a constant 60FPS.

With Forza Motorsport 7 being designed to run at 60FPS on both Xbox One and Xbox One X, the PC requirements for these framerates/resolution targets will no doubt be lower than what we have seen in Forza Horizons 3, which is great news for framerate junkies on PC.
