Gearbox promises to deliver a “final” DX12 implementation in a future Borderlands 3 patch
We have created a short guide which will help PC gamers switch Borderlands 3 back to DirectX 11 is they are experiencing issues. However, we believe that DirectX 12 can work to Borderlands 3’s benefit, having uncovered huge performance gains when using the API in certain situations. This game needs a DirectX 12 patch, and thankfully, 2K and Gearbox are prepared to deliver it.Â
AMD has confirmed to us that “2K and Gearbox are planning to release a final DX12 implementation in a future patch”. This means that Borderlands 3’s DirectX 12 issues should be temporary. Sadly, we have no ETA for this patch, which means that in the meantime, PC gamers will need to be careful when using Borderlands 3’s DirectX 12 mode.Â
