Gearbox Releases Borderlands 3’s first trailer

Gearbox has officially revealed Borderlands 3, officially starting that the studio called “The Year of Borderlands”, during which several old games in the series will be updated and more will be revealed about the franchise’s latest iteration.

With this announcement comes Borderlands 3’s first trailer, revealing four new vault hunters, though sadly none of these characters are named. Several old vault hunters are shown, including series favourite Claptrap and a multitude of characters from series spin-offs. If they haven’t died yet, they are likely to make a return in Borderlands 3, alongside a stockpile of advanced weaponry.

Gearbox boasts that Borderlands 3 will feature over 1 billion guns, some of which have legs? Fans of the series can rest assured that Borderlands 3 will feature more than enough armaments to keep them looting and shooting for quite some time.

Sadly Gearbox has not revealed everything about the new game, holding back some information until April 3rd. At this time the publisher hasn’t even revealed the platforms that the games will release on, though we expect to see PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of the game, as well as upgraded console editions for the PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X.

Gearbox has not revealed an official release date for Borderlands 3, though it would seem criminal for “The Year of Borderlands” to finish without the release of Borderlands 3. Expect a later 2019 release date, assuming that Gearbox’s year doesn’t extend into early 2020.
