One of the lesser-known aspects of Humble’s monthly subscription service is access to the “Humble Trove”, a library of DRM-free games that can be downloaded directly to a subscriber’s PC, with no launchers or online requirements.

Until May 3rd, Humble is allowing PC gamers to access Gone Home for free, without the need for a Humble Monthly subscription. Gone Home is a first-person exploration game that was developed by The Fullbright Company, receiving very positive reviews on Steam and positive coverage from critics. Today the game costs £10.99 on Steam, but with Humble you can play it for free, assuming that you download the title within the next week.

Unlike other Humble free game promotions, all you need is a Humble Store account, with the game coming as a direct download as opposed to a redeemable code for a 3rd party service like Steam or Uplay. The only downside is that you need to commit your PC’s storage space to the game, even if you don’t plan on playing the game anytime soon.
