Intel’s XeSS 2 tech is coming to Assassin’s Creed Shadows on day 1

Ubisoft has officially confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Shadows will support Intel’s XeSS 2 technology on day 1. This means that the game will support XeSS Super Resolution, XeSS Frame Generation, and XeSS Low Latency.

XeSS 2 is Intel’s answer to Nvidia’s DLSS and Reflex technologies. With XeSS 2, Intel graphics have the same AI upscaling and anti-latency feature sets as Nvidia AI products. XeSS is optimised for Intel ARC GPUs and Intel’s Iris Xe integrated graphics.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows will launch with day-1 support for AMD FSR 3.1 and Nvidia DLSS 3.7. This should allow for support for FSR 4 and DLSS 4 through the use of AMD’s GPU drivers and the Nvidia App’s DLSS Override feature.

This announcement comes the same day Intel released its XeSS 2.0 SDK to developers. This SDK will allow developers to implement all of Intel’s XeSS 2 technologies into their games.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is one of the first games to support Intel’s full AI upscaling feature set. XeSS 2 is already available in F1 24 and Hogwarts Legacy. Soon, more games will feature Intel’s XeSS technologies.
