Linux Benchmarking Transformed! – CapFrameX is coming to Linux
Benchmarking games on Linux will soon become a lot easier
CapFrameX, the popular PC game benchmarking tool, is coming to Linux. Currently, the benchmarking tool is only available on Windows PCs, but this should change later this year.
With the growing popularity of SteamOS, Bazzite, and other Linux distributions amongst gamers, there is growing interest in dedicated Linux benchmarking. With CapFrameX, PC enthusiasts will soon have a dedicated benchmarking tool that supports both Windows and Linux.
Sadly, we do not know when the Linux version of CapFrameX will be released. However, we do know that a beta version is “coming soon”. On Twitter/X, the tool’s developer has stated that the tool’s overlay has been the hardest part of the new app to develop. Hopefully, we will hear more about this new version of CapFrameX soon.

2026 is due to be a big year for Linux gaming, with the release of Valve’s new Steam Machine highlighting the strength of Linux as a gaming OS. With CapFrameX, gamers will soon be able to test Windows and Linux head-to-head using the same analysis tools. This should make 2026 an exciting time for hardware enthusiasts.
Windows gamers can download CapFrameX from the software’s official website.
