Map Selection is coming to PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds

One of the most requested features for PUBG has been map selection, allowing gamers to avoid maps that they dislike. The lack of this feature has aggravated the PUBG community for quite some time, so much so that some players frequently exit the game shortly being placed on specific maps by PUBG’s matchmaking system.

While this issue has been alleviated somewhat thanks to PUBG’s recent renovations to their Miramar map, it has done little to kill off requests for a map selection system. The desire for a map selection system was already set to grow in time, especially as PUBG’s 3rd map approaches its release date.

The image below showcases PUBG’s upcoming map selection UI, which may change slightly before launch. Here players can select specific maps or deselect undesirable maps, with the game randomly selecting chosen maps when more than one map is ticked.

Work on this new feature is almost complete, with the map selector being set to arrive on PUBG test servers soon, with plans to roll out the feature to all players a soon as it is found to be stable.
