Mass Effect 2 and 3’s DLC is finally available on Origin

Since their releases on PC, Mass Effect 2 and 3’s DLC was only purchasable using a digital currency known as Bioware Points, preventing gamers from purchasing the game’s additional story or multiplayer content without two separate transactions.

Mass Effect fans first needed to purchase Bioware points and then purchase the game’s DLC using said Bioware points, which was problematic since the players would often have a lot of spare points after transactions, leaving them with useless currency.

EA has finally addressed this problem by releasing the DLC for both Mass Effect 2 and 3 on their Origin client, though sadly the pricing of this DLC has only received a minor price decrease over the game’s existing Bioware points model, which itself has seen a price decrease since launch. This new pricing model sets the cost of Mass Effect 2’s DLC Bundle pack at £21.99 and Mass Effect 3’s DLC Bundle Pack at cost £24.99. Note that this costs more than Mass Effect’s Trilogy Pack, which currently costs £14.99 on Origin, which doesn’t include Mass Effect 2 and 3’s DLC.

While it is nice to be able to purchase this DLC without the need for separate Bioware points, it is nonetheless disappointing to see EA maintain such high pricing for this DLC content> Mass Effect 3 was released back in March 2012, making the game almost six years old.
