Metro Exodus is now available on the Microsoft Store – No more Epic Games Store PC Exclusivity

Metro Exodus’s PC version is now available on the Epic Games Store, enabling PC gamers to access the title outside of the Epic Games Store. This move makes the game available on two PC gaming storefronts, neither of which are Steam.

Not only will Metro Exodus be available on the Microsoft Store, but the game will also be available as part of Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass PC subscription service, which is set to be launched during Microsoft’s E3 press conference.

Metro Exodus’ Microsoft Store version is being advertised with support for Xbox Live Achievements and Xbox Live Cloud saves, two features which the Epic Games Store version of the title lacks. In these regards, the Microsoft Store version of Metro Exodus is Superior to the Epic Games Store version.

This release raises many questions. Is Epic Games’ “exclusivity” agreement with Deep Silver a “keep this game away from Steam” agreement, or has Deep Silver renegotiated their deal with Epic Games to allow Metro Exodus to release on other platforms? I guess we will learn more in the coming days and weeks.
