Metro Exodus PC Performance Review - RTX On!

Metro Exodus sold 2.5x as many copies as Metro: Last Light on PC at Launch

During the company’s “State of Unreal” Livestream, Epic Games confirmed that Metro Exodus sold 2.5x as many copies as Metro: Last Light at launch on PC, despite the controversies regarding Metro Exodus’ removal from Steam.

By making this announcement, Epic Games hopes to remove any fears that their storefront will reduce the sales of well-made PC games. Metro: Last Light was a popular PC release in its own right, releasing with positive reviews on both consoles and PCs alike.

Moving forward, Epic Games plans to release more exclusive titles on the platform, with the company announcing that they have extended their deal with Ubisoft to bring more of their future games to their Storefront. Former PlayStation titles like Journey and Quantic Dream’s Heavy Rain are also coming to the Epic Games Store in the future.

If anything, the controversy surrounding the game’s move to the Epic Store may have helped increase game sales, as the extra publicity and positive reviews will have no doubt put the game on the radar of more PC gamers.
