4A Games is well known for creating games that deliver spectacular visuals, offering high-end graphical features that can bring most PCs to their knees.

The Metro series is almost as well known as a GPU cooker in PC circles as it is known for its dark, post-apocalyptic atmosphere, where players control Artyom as he travels through the Moscow Metro and the irradiated landscape above.

In Metro Exodus, 4A Games leaves the Metro behind, venturing to the surface to showcase the “Metro Universe” from an entirely new perspective, allowing players to travel through large open levels as they move through a linear story with tonnes of side objectives and survivors in need of assistance.

At Gamescom 2018, 4A Games showcased Metro Exodus using Nvidia’s RTX Ray Tracing technology for Ray Traced Ambient Occlusion, but that is not the only Nvidia-branded technology that the developer plans to utilise. PCGAMESHARDWARE has confirmed that Metro Exodus will support Nvidia HairWorks and Advanced PhysX, both of which are considered demanding graphical features.

This move isn’t surprising given 4A Games’ longtime association with Nvidia, with all previous entries in the Metro series supporting Nvidia’s PhysX technology. Thankfully, all of these features can be turned off to deliver increased performance levels, which should make the game considerably easier to run.
