Monster Hunter: World is easily one of PC gaming’s biggest hits of 2018, currently occupying the number 4 spot on Steam’s most played games list. This popularity comes despite several notable issues with the game’s PC version, which have ranged from connectivity issues to visual downgrades when compared to the Xbox One X version.

Graphical downgrades? On PC? Say it ain’t so. Well, Monster Hunter: World’s PC version currently contains a bug which prevents the game from loading its highest resolution textures, preventing weapons, armour and other aspects of the game world from looking as good as it should.

Thankfully, a modder called MHVuse has already created a mod, or as he calls it “a crude workaround”, that addresses the game’s “blatantly obvious texture issue”. Right now this band-aid fix only address texture issues in players, NPCs, armour and weapons, and can present other graphical problems for some users.

In the three weeks after Monster Hunter: World’s PC release, Capcom has not commented on the game’s texture issues, making it unclear whether or not the developer is working on a patch.
