Monster Hunter World’s Iceborne expansion receives PC release date and feature upgrades

Capcom has announced that Monster Hunter World’s Iceborne Expansion will release on PC on January 9th alongside a number of new features.

When Iceborne releases on PC, we won’t just be receiving the game’s expansion content. With this update, PC gamers can expect Monster Hunter World to gain support for DirectX 12, Ultrawide 21:9 resolutions, new high-resolution textures and more.

Those who dislike the game’s original keyboard and mouse controls will also be happy to know that the game’s control system is also getting a revamp. These new features should arrive as part of a new title update for Monster Hunter World, which means that these upgrades shouldn’t be exclusive to Iceborne players.

At this time, it is unknown how Monster Hunter World’s DirectX 12 support will impact the game. Perhaps this update will help deliver better CPU or GPU performance, or maybe be used as a stepping stone which will allow DXR raytracing to be implemented into the game. The game is already an Nvidia branded title, making a raytracing collaboration more than possible.

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne is already available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, which means that there are already reviews available of the game’s new content.

Like Monster Hunter World, the game’s Iceborne expansion will release on PC exclusively on Steam.
