Were you going to wait to buy your new PC or Laptop untill after the Windows 7 Launch? Well today Novatech Ltd, the UKâs leading PC and laptop manufacturer announced a free upgrade program to Microsoftâs latest operating system, Windows 7. Commencing Monday 29th June, all Novatech PCs and laptops installed with Windows Vista* will be shipped with a voucher code to be redeemed for a full free copy of Windows 7 from 31st August.

Customers will have up to February 28th 2010 to claim their free upgrade. Options will be based on a like for like basis including 32bit and 64bit editions:

Vista Home Premium upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium
Vista Business upgraded to Windows 7 Professional
Vista Ultimate upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate

XP downgrade rights are also available on Vista Business and Ultimate, which is makes it a great option for customers whoâd prefer to jump from Windows XP to Windows 7.

A full reinstallation of Windows 7 will be required to upgrade from Vista which could potentially wipe userâs documents and files. Novatech will be offering external hard drives and USB media accompanied with technical support to help customers backup their data for safe keeping.

As part of EU ruling, Windows 7 will not ship with Internet Explorer 8. However an additional installation CD can be requested at the time of applying for the upgrade. The voucher code can be redeemed on windows7upgradeoption.com, where delivery details will be taken and shipped within 28 days from Microsoftâs launch date on 22nd October.
