Nvidia launches Streamline 2.4 with DLSS 3.7

DLSS 3.7 is now available to developers

Nvidia has released version 2.4 of their Streamline SDK, revealing a new version of the company’s DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) technology. This new version of DLSS is DLSS 3.7, which was first discovered by “_emoose_” on Reddit.

Streamline is Nvidia’s software solution that is designed to make the integration of Super Resolution technologies into games easier. In effect, it is Nvidia’s version of Microsoft’s upcoming “DirectSR” software. Since Microsoft’s DirectSR software in unlikely to be available to developers in the near future, Nvidia’s Streamline software is currently one of the best ways to integrate multiple super resolution technologies (like DLSS, XeSS, and FSR) into games.

What has Nvidia changed with DLSS 3.7? That’s unclear. Some users have already reported improved motion clarity and less smearing with this new version of DLSS. That said, it remains unclear what Nvidia had done to improve their upscaler. PC enthusiasts can manually update the versions of DLSS and other upscalers in existing games using DLSS profile switching tools. Using this technique, gamers can already use DLSS 3.7 in games.

A lot of changes have been made to DLSS since the introduction of DLSS 3.0 with the release of the RTX 40 series. Now that version 3.7 has been released, one has to wonder what Nvidia’s plans are for version 4.0? In version 4.0 of DLSS in the works? If so, what new feature will it do to improve upon DLSS 3.0? A second gen Frame Generation technique? More performant algorithms? Frame Generation for older RTX GPUs? Your guess is as good as mine.
