Nvidia’s DLSS tech is reportedly coming to Call of Duty Warzone on April 22nd
Thanks to an Nvidia user on Twitter called @LeonardoLeal; we have seen a new Geforce Newsletter email from Nvidia which states that the company’s DLSS technology will be coming to Call of Duty Warzone on April 22nd, delivering a significant performance uplift for Nvidia RTX series GPU users.Â
What is DLSS?
DLSS, Deep Learning SuperSampling, is an Nvidia Technology that utilises an AI algorithm to upscale rendered images to higher resolutions using the AI computational capabilities of the company’s RTX series graphics cards. This tech allows Nvidia’s RTX series graphics cards to deliver higher framerates at near-native and sometimes better than native levels of image quality. In effect, DLSS delivers a free performance boost to users of RTX series graphics cards, making it a highly sought after feature for Nvidia users.Â
DLSS is a technology that requires direct game integration, requiring Activision to update Call of Duty: Warzone to support the technology. If Nvidia’s marketing email is correct, Call of Duty: Warzone Season 3 should ship with support for DLSS, giving Nvidia RTX users boosted framerates.Â

Bringing DLSS to Call of Duty: Warzone gives Nvidia a huge advantage over AMD, as AMD/Radeon don’t have a technology that can compete with DLSS. For gamers, DLSS is effectively a free performance upgrade for Geforce RTX users. With Warzone’s DLSS patch, Nvidia RTX GPU users will soon have a free performance upgrade. Â
