Obsidian Entertainment Reveals The Outer Worlds
Obsidian Entertainment Reveals The Outer WorldsÂ
At The Game Awards 2019, Obsidian Entertainment has officially revealed a new game called The Outer Worlds, a single-player, First-person sci-fi RPG that comes as part of a partnership with Private Division.Â
If the trailer below is anything to go by, The Outer Worlds features a world that appears to be a splendid mix of both Borderlands and Fallout New Vegas, creating a universe where corporations control the outermost regions of space.Â
The Outer Worlds will release on Xbox One, PS4 and PC (via Steam), despite Microsoft’s recent acquisition of Obsidian Entertainment. This makes sense, as The Outer Worlds was in development long before the purchase and will be published by Private Division. Â
Watch the official announcement trailer for The Outer Worlds, a new single-player first-person sci-fi RPG from Obsidian Entertainment and Private Division.
In The Outer Worlds, you awake from hibernation on a colonist ship that was lost in transit to Halcyon, the furthest colony from Earth located at the edge of the galaxy, only to find yourself in the midst of a deep conspiracy threatening to destroy it. As you explore the furthest reaches of space and encounter various factions, all vying for power, the character you decide to become will determine how this player-driven story unfolds. In the corporate equation for the colony, you are the unplanned variable.
