Official PlayStation VR2 app arrives on Steam
Sony’s PlayStation VR2 headset will soon support gaming PCs through SteamVR
On August 7th, Sony will be releasing their PlayStation VR2 adapter for PC, allowing their VR headset to be used with gaming PCs. Now, Sony’s PlayStation VR2 App has arrived on Steam. This application will allow PC gamers to control their PSVR2 headset on PC, update its firmware, and use its PSVR2 Sense controllers.
By allowing their VR headset to he used with gaming PCs, Sony are giving their PlayStation VR2 owners access to more content. For PC gamers, this move will give them another high-end VR headset option. Sony’s PSVR2/PC adapter will cost $59.99/€59.99/£49.99. The adapter will need to connect to PCs though USB and DispayPort 1.4 (or better). The PSVR2 app on Steam will be available for free.
PlayStation VR 2 PC System Requirements (Via Steam)
Software-wise, Sony will be releasing a PlayStation VR2 app for PC which can be used alongside Valve’s SteamVR app from Steam. Below are Sony’s PC hardware requirements for PS VR2. Note that Nvidia’s RTX 3060 and AMD’s RX 6600 XT graphics cards are recommended. Even so, lower-end GPUs may technically work if they support DisplayPort 1.4.

Storage: 700 MB available space
Additional Notes: * Zen 2 or later architecture is required

It’s worth noting that PC gamers will not be able to access the full capabilities of Sony’s PSVR2 headset. Features like HDR, headset feedback, eye tracking, adaptive triggers, and haptic feedback (other than rumble) will be unavailable on PC. However, PC gamers will be able to take advantage of foveated rendering and 3D audio in supported games.
