PixARK is coming to Steam Early Access in March
Studio Wildcard, the creators of Ark: Survival Evolved, has entered a licensing deal with Snail Games, a developer that plans to take the core elements of Ark and create a more kid-friendly Minecraft-esque spin-off to create a more casual gaming experience.
This re-imagining of Ark: Survival Evolved will be called PixARK, and it is set to arrive on Steam Early Access and Microsoft’s Xbox Games Preview program this March. The game will feature a Minecraft-like Voxel building system, generated questlines, an in-depth character creator and over 100 voxelized Ark dinosaurs that are tameable, trainable and ridable.    Â
 Â
Welcome to PixARK, a vast, wild world filled with vicious dinosaurs, magical creatures and endless adventure! To survive in this mysterious land, you must tame creatures both ferocious and cuddly, craft high tech and magical tools, and build your own base out of cubes.
With a robust character creator, an infinite number of voxel-based maps and procedurally generated quests, your PixARK adventure will be completely unique. Team up with friends to form a tribe, or play on your own. Spend your time building a towering fortress or go on a quest in a sprawling cavern. Fly on the back of a dragon and smite your enemies with a magic wand, or ride a mighty T-Rex and blast your foes with a rocket launcher. In the world of PixARK, how you play is up to you â as long as you survive!
PixARK is currently listed on Steam with similar system requirements to Ark: Survival Evolved, though it is worth noting that the game has lower storage and system memory requirements. These system requirements are expected to change as the game’s development progresses.Â
MINIMUM:
OS: Windows 7/8.1/10 (64-bit versions)
Processor: Intel Core i5-2400/AMD FX-8320 or better
Memory: 4 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 660 2GB/AMD Radeon HD 7870 2GB or better
DirectX: Version 10
Network: Broadband Internet connection
Storage: 15 GB available space
Additional Notes: Requires broadband internet connection for multiplayer
PixARK is designed to be played as either a single-player title or with a group of friends online, offering similar gameplay dynamics to Minecraft with more potential for team battles against large foes and a unique take on Minecraft’s blocky style.Â
The final version of this game is currently set to release later this year on PC, Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch.Â
