Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds has surpassed DOTA 2’s concurrent player record

PUBG has quickly become one of Steam’s most popular releases, becoming Steam’s most played game in terms of concurrent player count earlier this month.

Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds has now surpassed DOTA 2’s peak player count of 1.29 million players, surpassing 1.3 million concurrent players over the past weekend. Steam currently lists this player count as 1,338,091 players, which is almost as high as the peak player counts of both Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and DOTA 2 over the same 24 periods combined (around 1.4 million).

This is a huge achievement for PUBG, especially given the fact that the game is a premium title and is still on Steam’s Early Access programs. To say the least, the active player count of PUBG is astonishing. PUBG’s player count is expected to continue to increase in the near future, especially as new features are added to the game.
