Prey’s update 1.03 adds an FOV slider to the game

Prey’s update 1.03 has been released on PC, adding an FOV slider to the game and fixes a lot of bugs and other issues. This means that PC players will no longer need to edit game files in order to adjust the game’s field of view.

Patch 1.03 is currently in beta, so prospective users will have to opt-in to the game’s “public-beta-patch branch” in order to use the patch’s new features early.

The Steam update v1.03 includes:

  • – Further fixes to prevent save games from becoming corrupted. Fix also returns corrupted save games to uncorrupted state.
  • – Items should no longer be incorrectly deleted from inventory or the world when changing levels.
  • – Fix for stamina not recovering.
  • – Fix for being unable to repair items.
  • – Player should no longer spawn out of level.
  • – Fabricated weapons are now empty.
  • – Fix for humans incorrectly turning hostile. Hostile humans in the lobby will be returned to friendly.
  • – End game credits now always skippable.
  • – Aaron Ingram no longer cowers if spooked by a typhon.
  • – Fix for various problems making changes in the settings.
  • – FOV slider is available in the advanced options menu.

The game’s new FOV slider will give players the ability to change the game’s FOV from the games default value of 86 degrees to any value between 60 and 120, giving users the ability to easily adjust the game to their liking.

One other thing that this new patch does is add the ability to potentially uncorrupt some corrupted game save files, which will be very handy for those that have previously suffered from save game issues.
