Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is shockingly easy to run on PC

The PC System Requirements for Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown have landed

Ubisoft has released the PC system requirements and performance targets for Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. To our surprise, the game’s PC system requirements are incredibly low, and the game targets 60 FPS (or higher) on all console platforms. Yes, even Nintendo’s Switch targets 60 FPS!

While the game is not the most graphically impressive titles out there, Ubisoft’s new Prince of Persia game features solid visuals and a lot of artistic flair. Like classic Prince of Persia titles, The Lost Crown is a side-scrolling action game. The game features 2.5D visuals and for 4K 60 FPS gameplay on PC, gamers will only need an Nvidia GTX 1060 graphics card. That’s a crazy low-end GPU for 4K 60 FPS gaming!

Sargon, trained as a weapon to serve Persia, is on a mission to save its heir to the throne, Prince Ghassan. This perilous journey is sending him to Mount Qaf, where time no longer flows swift and sure in one direction. Sargon along with the other Immortals head to Mount Qaf to save the Prince, but it doesn’t take long before he finds himself splitting paths, with some of the Immortals on a conflicting trajectory. Maybe that’s because time seems to be mysteriously intertwined here and sometimes the past can happen after the present. No matter the cost, Sargon continues to strive when all odds are against him, gaining strength along the way.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown – Can you run it?

Strangely, Ubisoft has recommended the same AMD Radeon GPU for 4K, 1440p, and 1080p. This GPU is the Radeon RX 5500 XT. Perhaps The Lost Crown runs best on AMD’s RDNA and newer graphics cards, though it is strange to see that none of AMD’s Polaris series GPUs are recommended for 1080p or 1440p gameplay. Does this mean that AMD’s RX 480 will not be able to run this game as well as its RDNA counterpart?

While Ubisoft recommends SSD storage for this game, we will note that this game runs on PS4 and Xbox One. Both of these consoles use HDD storage. As such, we expect this game to run fine off an HDD, though SSD storage will give gamers access to faster loading times. SSD storage will give gamers a better, more seamless gaming experience.

Unlike most modern PC games, The Lost Crown is a DirectX 11 title. This means that PC gamers should not expect to see the stutters that many DirectX 12 games face. That said, Ubisoft have been good at eliminating these kinds of stutters from their newer DirectX 12 titles.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Console Performance

On consoles, Ubisoft’s new Prince of Persia game will target 60 FPS (or higher) framerates on all platforms. On Nintendo’s Switch the game will target 720p 60 FPS in handheld mode and 1080p 60 FPS in Docked mode. PS4 an Xbox One both target 1080p 60 FPS and the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X both target 4K at 60 FPS. Xbox Series S targets 1440p 60 FPS and both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X target 4K 120 FPS.

No matter what platform you play the game on, Prince of Persia The Lost Crown will run at high framerates. That’s great news for gamers, and a clear sign of solid optimisation efforts from Ubisoft.

Prince of Persia The Lost Crown is coming to PC and consoles on January 18th 2024. The game will be available as a standalone game on PC and as part of Ubisoft+. The game will release on January 15th for Ubisoft+ subscribers.
