Project Cars 3 now has a release date

Slightly Mad Studios has just confirmed Project Cars 3’s release date, confirming that the game will be coming to PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on August 28th, 2020.

With Project Cars 3, Slightly Mad Studios plans to offer players a revamped career mode, a new vehicle upgrade system and a wide range of new and enhanced features over Project Cars 2. Community features will see a major overhaul with this release, as Slightly Mad Studios is aiming to make this kind of content more frequent and varied than what was seen in prior games in the franchise.

Community events proved popular amongst the Project Cars fanbase, but Slightly Mad Studios feel that those events were limited in scope. With Project Cars 3, Slightly Mad plans to offer new multiplayer content in the form of “Rivals mode”, which will offer daily, weekly and monthly challenges, which will generate XP and “Rivals Coins”. These modes are designed to help encourage participation in community events, and allow more players to feel rewarded for taking part.

So far, Vehicle upgrades have been very limited within the Project Cars series, but with this new release, gamers will be able to customise the vehicle performance through tuning and upgrades. Racers will be able to upgrade their engines, exhausts, suspension systems and more, adding another new dimension to the Project Cars experience.

When it comes to new content, we already know that Project Cars 3 will feature at least two new tracks, including the Shanghai Street Circuit and Sau Paulo’s Interlagos Circuit.

On PC, Project Cars 3 will deliver gamers day-1 VR support, with the game promising support for all major PC VR headsets. At this time, VR support has not been promised for any other gaming platform.

Project Cars 3 will launch with over 140 tracks and 200 “elite-brand” vehicles. The game will also allow players to upgrade their vehicles with better engines, exhausts, suspension systems and more, adding another new dimension to the Project Cars experience.
