PUBG’s latest test patch offers performance enhancements and new Crates/Loot
This update will be brought to the main game once it is found to be stable enough, just like the game’s Early Access test patches. One of the main draws of this new test patch is the promise of improved server and client performance, especially when parachuting into an area at the beginning of the game. Other small changes will be made to the game to improve performance without having a negative effect on gameplay.Â
We have continued to stabilize the game performance since the 1.0 release. We will be tweaking a few things to improve the performance of the game without comprising any gameplay elements. For example, in this test build, we have reduced the visible distance while in the air – this will improve the performance of the server and client in the beginning of the match. We plan to make small changes to the starting islands too in order to achieve similar goals.  Â
Â
With the new test update, players will also be able to report suspected cheaters within the game’s replay feature, allowing players to reaccess a situation before reporting another player. Players will no longer need to be killed by alleged cheaters to use the in-game reporting tool.Â
This update will also bring with it two different types of crates, loot boxes that provide players with new items of clothing. These cosmetics offer no in-game advantage, though these crates will be available in both free and locked (requires a key) versions, giving player more reasons to spend money. Personally, I would prefer to pay for the desired costume directly, instead of using a chance-based loot system.Â
Â
Those who play on the test server will be given 100,000 BP and 6 Early Bird key for unlocking crates. This patch is expected to be added to the main game within the next few weeks.Â
