RAGE 2’s first gameplay trailer has been released

Bethesda’s first gameplay trailer for RAGE 2 has been released, merging the talents of Mad Max (2015) creator Avalanche Studios with the FPS kings at id Software to develop what appears to be an open world FPS.

All things considered, Avalanche seems to be the perfect developer for RAGE 2, a game which appears to be very similar in tone to Mad Max with open world elements, bombastic vehicles and lots of big guns. Avalanche’s work with id Software (the developer behind DOOM 2016) has yielded a game with a lot of visual appeals, offering crisp visuals in both FPS and vehicle-based sections, let’s hope that the game can run well with such a vast game world.

RAGE 2 is set in the same world as the original, a dystopian future where humanity was ravaged by an asteroid, leaving chaos and insanity to reign as ruthless gangs and tyrannical tyrants are the only law within the world.

In RAGE 2, you’ll dive headfirst into a dystopian world devoid of society, law, and order. You can go anywhere, shoot anything, and explode everything. The game brings together two studio powerhouses – Avalanche Studios, masters of open world mayhem and id Software, gods of the first-person shooter – to deliver a carnival of carnage.

In the year 2185, humanity’s numbers are dwindling. Ruthless and bloodthirsty gangs roam the open roads and the tyrannical Authority seek to rule who remains with an iron fist. You are Walker, the last Ranger of the wasteland. Robbed of your home and left for dead, you’ll tear across an unforgiving wasteland battling bloodthirsty gangs to find the tools and tech needed to take the fight to The Authority and crush their oppressive rule once and for all!

At this time there is no release date for RAGE 2, though we do know that the game will release on PC, PS4 and Xbox One, every major gaming platform aside from the Nintendo Switch.
